Energy-Efficient Replacement Windows in South Tulsa, OK

Energy efficiency is one of the most common reasons homeowners call EverLight Windows.

Usually the windows are the originals, the house is drafty, and the energy bills are high. We replace old, leaky windows in South Tulsa-area homes with energy-efficient premium vinyl and fiberglass composite windows, custom-made to fit.

We also back that with a guarantee. Every project includes the Energy Savings Guarantee: if your energy bills don't go down by the amount we project, we'll pay you the annual difference, up to $1,300.

Signs Your Windows Are Costing You

Old windows rarely fail all at once. They wear down a little at a time, and you've probably gotten used to the symptoms without connecting them to the windows. These are the signs Jared looks for when he comes out for an estimate.

Drafts and Gaps

Hold your hand near the edge of a closed window on a windy day. If you feel air moving, the window is leaking air. Air leaks around a failing window or frame make your heating and cooling system work harder than it should.

Fogging Between the Glass

A window that looks cloudy or hazy from inside the glass, rather than on either surface, has usually lost its seal. The insulated glass unit has let moisture in, and it can't be wiped clean from either side. A failed seal is one of the clearest signs a window is due for replacement.

Cracks and Damage

Cracked glass and damaged frames are the easiest signs to spot. Point them out at your estimate, along with any other window that has been bothering you, and Jared will walk you through your options for each one.

Warped Frames

Frames that have warped or pulled out of shape don't seal the way they used to. You might notice a sash that sticks, a gap along the edge, or a window that won't close all the way.

High Energy Bills

If your windows are showing any of the signs above, your energy bills are most likely higher than they need to be. The bill is where all of those small leaks add up, month after month.

Original Windows and Cheap Replacements

Most of the energy problems we see come from one of two places.

  1. Original windows

The first is original windows, the ones installed when the house was built.

They've done their time. Seals wear out, frames shift, and older windows don't have Low-E glass.

  2. Earlier replacements

The second is a set of earlier replacements that didn't hold up.

If your house was re-windowed once already with lower-quality windows that started to fail or were installed improperly, you've paid for new windows once and still have the problem. Jared saw why while learning the trade: what separates a window that lasts for decades from one that fails in a few years comes down to the details that matter, even when nobody's watching.

Summer Winter

Hot Rooms, Cold Rooms

Comfort is another big reason people call, and it's closely tied to energy.

Some homes have one or two rooms that never match the rest of the house. It's often a bedroom or the living room. It bakes in the afternoon, then turns cold on a winter night, with temperature swings the rest of the house doesn't have.

Oklahoma summers run long and hot, and winter cold snaps can come on fast. A room with drafty, failing windows feels both extremes more than the rest of the house. You end up nudging the thermostat for the whole house to fix one room, which makes the energy bill worse for everyone.

What new windows can do is help those rooms feel more like the rest of the house. We cover hot and cold rooms in more detail on our page about window replacement in Broken Arrow.

What Makes a Modern Window More Efficient

We don't sell windows on spec sheets, and we won't bury you in numbers. In plain terms, a modern energy-efficient window reduces drafts and heat transfer, and that can lower your heating and cooling costs. Three things do most of the work.

The glass. Older windows don't have Low-E glass. Low-E is a thin, invisible coating on the glass that helps reflect heat, keeping more of it out in summer and in during winter. Glass type also affects the price of a window, so ask Jared about glass options at your estimate.

The frame and the fit. New glass and tight, well-built frames in premium vinyl or fiberglass composite cut down the drafts and heat transfer that older windows let through. Every window is custom-made to fit its opening. See how the two materials compare on our vinyl and fiberglass windows page.

A proper installation. This is the part nobody sees, and it's where many lower-quality replacements fall short. Lower-quality windows and improper installation are the two things behind the failing replacements described above.

A Quieter Home Is a Bonus

Hardly anyone calls us just because the street is loud. It's still worth knowing about. New glass and frames make a huge difference in outside noise compared with old windows, so your home will likely be noticeably quieter.

Our Energy Savings Guarantee

Every EverLight project comes with this guarantee, word for word:

If your energy bills don't go down by the amount we project, we'll pay you the annual difference, up to $1,300.

The Energy Savings Guarantee is valued at $1,300, and it's included with every EverLight project at no extra cost as one of our Five Guarantees. Together, all five add up to $3,600 in guaranteed value.

If your new windows ever fog, the Lifetime Window Guarantee covers that too: if your windows fail, fog, or break, we fix or replace them for as long as you live in the home. Read the full list on our Five Guarantees page.

If you have questions about how the Energy Savings Guarantee applies to your home, ask Jared at your estimate.

Other Reasons Homeowners Upgrade

Energy and comfort get most people started. A few other benefits tend to come along for the ride.

Safety

Older windows are often hard to open, if they open at all, which is a real problem in an emergency. Many don't lock or unlock properly either.

Curb Appeal

A lot of homes still have white windows with a colonial grid pattern. Some homeowners switch to a black exterior with no grid, and others keep a white exterior without the grid.

Home Value

New windows can help, but different studies say different things about how much. Treat it as a bonus, not the reason to buy.

Energy-Efficient Windows FAQs

Will new windows lower my energy bills?

Modern energy-efficient windows reduce drafts and heat transfer, which can lower your heating and cooling costs. Older windows often leak air and lack Low-E glass, so your system works harder. EverLight Windows backs this with the Energy Savings Guarantee: if your energy bills don't go down by the amount we project, we'll pay you the annual difference, up to $1,300.

What is the Energy Savings Guarantee?

The Energy Savings Guarantee is one of our Five Guarantees, included with every EverLight Windows project at no extra cost. If your energy bills don't go down by the amount we project, we'll pay you the annual difference, up to $1,300. It's valued at $1,300, and it's part of $3,600 in total guaranteed value that comes with every project.

Why are my windows foggy between the panes?

Fog between the panes usually means the seal on the insulated glass unit has failed and let moisture inside. Because the moisture is trapped between the layers of glass, it can't be wiped clean from either side. A window in that condition is a common sign it's time for replacement. If your new EverLight windows ever fog, our Lifetime Window Guarantee means we fix or replace them for as long as you live in the home.

What is Low-E glass?

Low-E glass has a thin, invisible coating that helps reflect heat. It helps keep heat out of your home in summer and in during winter. Many older windows don't have Low-E glass, which is one reason they struggle to keep a home comfortable. Glass type is also one of the factors that affects the price of a window, so ask Jared about glass options at your free estimate.

Do new windows help with noise?

Yes. Noise reduction usually isn't the main reason homeowners replace their windows, but new glass and frames make a big difference in outside noise compared with old windows. Your home will likely be noticeably quieter once your old windows are replaced. It's a welcome bonus on top of comfort and efficiency.
